The blocks are then pushed over with a quarry rack and split with feathers and wedges to produce a standard size block of 8' x 5' x 5'.

The limestone sets on the surface, so there is no overburden to remove before starting to saw.

The W. F. Meyers saw cuts vertical slots 10' deep and 8' horizontal wide into the stone.

Extensive core drilling, on ranchland in 1990, revealed a limestone deposit stretching 12 miles long and 3 miles wide.
